Why Were You Established When The State Has Institutions In Charge of Search and Rescue?
- NGOs are heavily involved in preparing societies for disasters, reducing damage and risks, short-term intervention and long-term recovery. Without voluntary structures, it does not seem possible for the state to meet the needs of societies exposed to disasters on its own. Therefore, the roles of voluntary organizations in all phases of disasters, both in their relations with the public and among themselves and their approach and cooperation, language unity, and coordination with a common disaster management should be ensured.
In this context, civil initiatives that take the pulse of the society, consist of members of the society and have the principle of volunteering on their basis, have an important position in this regard.
Non-governmental organizations have an important function in preventing the loss of life and property that may be caused by disasters both in our country and in the world.
Do you accept aids such as food and clothing to be delivered to citizens in disasters?
- Yes, we accept. We distribute these donations, which we accept as in-kind donations, to those in need as in-kind aid.
